Receipt photos are not stored
The photo is only used to detect the items. After the analysis it is gone. Only the detected products stay in your pantry.

Your pantry lives on Appwrite Cloud in Frankfurt. Receipt analysis and recipe ideas run on Mistral AI, a company based in France.
No ads, no cookies
Pastro shows no ads, in the app and here alike. And this website sets no cookies and loads nothing from third-party servers.

Do I need to install anything from an app store?
No. Pastro is a Progressive Web App: open it in your browser, add it to your home screen, and it updates automatically.
What happens to my receipt photo?
Your receipt photo is used by our AI service to detect items. The image is not stored after analysis; only the detected items are saved to your pantry.
Which receipts and stores work?
Most printed supermarket receipts work well. Pastro reads the line items, estimates category and shelf life, and adds the detected products to your pantry.
How do the recipe suggestions work?
Ask for ideas in your own words and Pastro answers with three recipes built around your pantry. Each recipe shows which ingredients you already have and which are missing, and the missing ones can go straight onto your shopping list. Receipt scans and recipes share one weekly limit of 30 AI requests.
Which languages does Pastro speak?
The whole app is available in English, German and Polish, including the product categories Pastro assigns to your groceries. You can switch language at any time in the settings.
Can my household share one pantry?
Yes. Invite the people you live with and everyone sees the same pantry, expiry alerts and shopping list in real time.
Do I need a constant internet connection?
Yes. Pastro needs an internet connection so your pantry can stay synced across your devices and everyone in your household sees the same up-to-date data.
